Let’s All Go to Scotland

Scotland has a long, rich history. It is a beautiful country. I haven’t visited personally, but would love to one day.

So you would imagine that Scotland’s tourism bureau would spare no expense to come up with a slogan that captures the essence of this great country. You would be absolutely correct. They wanted to replace a tired slogan “Best Small Country” with something new and exciting–something that would capture the imagination of every world traveler. They budgeted US$250,000 for the task of coming up with a new slogan. And the winner is…

wait for it…

wait…

any second now…

“Welcome to Scotland”

Okay, funny. I spent a month traveling by train between countries last spring and I must tell you that Scotland was my favorite stop in Western Europe. If you ever get a chance, GO.
    Welcome to Scotland!
